Hollywood sure loves Hollywood and any movie that celebrates itself. There is no happy ending, no memorably songs, or outstanding performances. I wouldn't say it was bad it is just easily forgotten. Ryan Gosling can't sing and Emma Stone is passable. They really should have found actors that could sing. The movie had no business being nominated for best picture. If you want something to pass the time without making you mad or really bringing out any emotion this is it. Again not a bad movie, just nothing special.
