About Me

Chuck Baker is Right! Well, I am. What I mean is that my friends always joke that I’m always right (or at least I think I am). The thing is I don’t say anything, unless I know I’m right. So it's not that I’m right about everything, but usually when I speak I know what I’m talking about. My dad always said, “Don’t speak unless you know your right.” This blog includes many subjects like religion, politics, business, movies, sports, and more. Super Bowl XLIII

3 Reasons Why Super Bowl XLIII is not the Greatest Super Bowl of All-Time!

1. Super Bowl XLIII didn’t have two great historic teams. While Pittsburg is a great team with a lot of history the same can’t be said about Arizona. When I think of all-time great Super Bowl match-ups I think back to Dallas Vs. Pittsburg in Super Bowls X and XIII or Washington and Miami in Super Bowl XVII. These Super Bowls had two great teams that battled to see who was the best. With Arizona and Pittsburgh everyone knew Pittsburgh was better, it was just a matter if there might be an upset.

2. There was no upset. While the fashion in which Pittsburgh won was great, they won. Pittsburgh was supposed to win. It was not an upset. When I think of great games I think of Super Bowl XXV. Buffalo was supposed to win, but the Giants did with a last second missed field goal. Super Bowl XXXII is another example where Green Bay was to be the better team, but John Elway was not going to have it and his first down run was legendary. Super Bowl XXXVI with New England the big underdog comes up with a last minute field goal to win with a no name quarterback. And we can’t forget Super Bowl III with the Jets upset over the Colts. Lastly what about Super Bowl XLII. The New York Giants beating the undefeated New England Patriots and in dramatic fashion was great. If Arizona had pulled off the win, then maybe this would be the greatest Super Bowl, but the team that was supposed to win, won.

3. It was a sloppy game. There were bad calls, missed calls, poor plays, sloppy plays, stupid plays, and weak commercials. It was not a great game, but it did have a great ending. I’m not saying it might not be one of the greatest Super Bowls, but it is not the greatest.

What is the greatest Super Bowl. If I had to pick one it would be Super Bowl XXV with Buffalo and New York. The last second missed field goal was priceless, but the circumstances around the game make it stand out. We were about to enter into the first Gulf War. We had thousands of troops oversees and Americans were united as one. Whitney Houston sang the greatest National Anthem ever. It was just everything you could want in a Super Bowl. It was truly Super.
