I try to watch what I do and not sin in what I say. I try to hold my tongue. But when I stand in silence— not even speaking of good things— the turmoil within me grows. The more I think about it, the hotter I get. Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered— how fleeting my life is. I am merely a moving shadow, and all my busy rushing ends in nothing. And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you. Rescue me from my rebellion. You discipline me for my sins. I am but a breath. Hear my prayer, O Lord! Listen to my cries for help! Don’t ignore my tears, before I am gone and exist no more. Amen.
My prayer based on Psalms 39:1-4, 6-8, 11-13 NLT.
About Me
- Chuck Baker
- Chuck Baker is Right! Well, I am. What I mean is that my friends always joke that I’m always right (or at least I think I am). The thing is I don’t say anything, unless I know I’m right. So it's not that I’m right about everything, but usually when I speak I know what I’m talking about. My dad always said, “Don’t speak unless you know your right.” This blog includes many subjects like religion, politics, business, movies, sports, and more.
