About Me

Chuck Baker is Right! Well, I am. What I mean is that my friends always joke that I’m always right (or at least I think I am). The thing is I don’t say anything, unless I know I’m right. So it's not that I’m right about everything, but usually when I speak I know what I’m talking about. My dad always said, “Don’t speak unless you know your right.” This blog includes many subjects like religion, politics, business, movies, sports, and more. Constitutional Rights for Americans Only

The ACLU and many leftwing Democrats want to give Constitutional Rights to the terrorists being held in Guantanamo Bay. They feel that these non-American terrorists should have the same rights as any other American citizen. They feel the terrorists should have the same rights we do in our court system.

My problem with this is that the Constitution was written for Americans and not for the rest of the world. Only Americans should have Constitutional Rights. While we should follow any treaties that we’ve signed and the Geneva Conventions when it applies, we should not give the same rights to non-Americans as we do Americans.

Let me use an example to explain my point: What if you joined a club that you had to pay membership dues or fees? The club could be a gym, a warehouse store, or a discount club. As a paying member of the club you get rights to use the facility, you get shop in the store, or maybe you get special discounts. Now the club is going to let anyone have the same rights you do to the club even though they have not paid any members fees. You would likely feel you were being taken advantage of by the club. How dare they charge you for the right to be in their club, but just give it away for free to others.

As an American citizen I deserve my Constitutional Rights. As an American citizen I pay my taxes and do my duty as a citizen for my Constitutional Rights. Thousands of Americans have died and shed their blood from the American Revolution to the War on Terror to protect our rights as American citizens. They did not give their lives to protect the rights of non-Americans and especially not rights of terrorists.
