You’ve likely heard of a RINO (Republican In Name Only), but I have a new name CINO (Conservative In Name Only). RINOs are liberal and moderate Republicans like Colin Powell. They call themselves Republican, but they support most, if not all Democrat and liberal policies. Colin Powell actually endorsed and voted for Barack Obama for President in 2008 and 2012.
While RINOs are a problem in the Republican party, the CINOs can be much worse. CINOs are those Republicans that say they are conservative, but they really don’t support true conservative principles. Two examples are John McCain and George W. Bush. While both were strong on protecting our country against terrorism, when it comes to domestic issues they are not conservative. It was both President Bush and John McCain that supported the bank bail-outs in 2008, that began the out of control government spending. Both also supported amnesty for illegal aliens. The problems with CINOs is that they do not push forward true conservative ideas that can move the country forward and into continued greatness.
Both Bush and McCain won primary elections because of their name recognition and not because they were the most conservative. We must be careful in the future not to support candidates with named like Romey, Huckabee, Bush, Christie or even Palin just because we recognize their name and hope they will be conservative. We must support and elect true conservatives. Reagan Conservatives are out their, we just need to lift them up. You will know them by their actions, votes, and leadership under great pressure. They will not support government solutions, but private market solutions. They will not run when the times get tough. They will not look to taxes as a solution. They will not try to be liked by the media or the powerful. And they will not try to redefine what it means to be a conservative.
