This movie boldly goes where no one has gone before in the Star Trek franchise and it works perfectly. I am not a huge fan of Star Trek. I’m more of a Star Wars guy, but I did like the original Star Trek show with Kirk, Spock, and McCoy. The new Star Trek movie is not a remake, retool, reboot, or even a sequel. This is something different. Without giving too much away, this movie honors the past by introducing a totally new future. This has to be the most interesting way of redoing a classic show that I’ve ever seen.
The movie is non-stop action and adventure. It was so much better than both my wife and I had expected. It did not get bogged down in space and science jargon, but instead focused on the characters and the story. I think fans and non-fans of Star Trek will enjoy this movie. The theme of this movie come down to one thing in my opinion…fate. No matter what happens, fate cannot be changed. What is to happen, will happen. I look forward to more Star Trek movies in the future.
I give this movie an A.
About Me
- Chuck Baker
- Chuck Baker is Right! Well, I am. What I mean is that my friends always joke that I’m always right (or at least I think I am). The thing is I don’t say anything, unless I know I’m right. So it's not that I’m right about everything, but usually when I speak I know what I’m talking about. My dad always said, “Don’t speak unless you know your right.” This blog includes many subjects like religion, politics, business, movies, sports, and more.
