About Me

Chuck Baker is Right! Well, I am. What I mean is that my friends always joke that I’m always right (or at least I think I am). The thing is I don’t say anything, unless I know I’m right. So it's not that I’m right about everything, but usually when I speak I know what I’m talking about. My dad always said, “Don’t speak unless you know your right.” This blog includes many subjects like religion, politics, business, movies, sports, and more. Customer Service over Politics

Do you remember when the cast of the musical Hamilton lectured then Vice-president elect Mike Pence at the end of their show he was attending?  The cast member had a right to express their freedom of speech. But was it the right thing to do at that time?  Pence was an audience member, a customer of the show.  When you are at work you are there to serve your customers.  These actors are there to entertain, not to make a political statement or call out a customer.

At my job I have a congressman that is my customer.  We are on completely different political sides, but when he comes into my store he gets my full respect.  When he comes into my store I don't question his votes or his policies.   Instead I just give him great customer service.

The cast should have been respectful and remember their job is to entertain people.  Whatever happened to treating others the way you want to be treated?  If they want to make a political statement they should do it on their own time.  But if I go to see a play I don't want to be lectured at and the neither should the Vice-president.

No matter what business you are in be it selling clothes, servicing food, or entertaining people at a play, customer service should always trump politics.
