This is my issue with the whole gay marriage debate. Why do we need primission from the government to get married at all gay or straight?
Why do we need the government to give out a license to cut hair? It doesn't guarantee that you'll get a good hair cut. All it does is make it more expensive for someone to start their own business.
And a marriage license doesn't mean you'll have a successful marriage. And a license from the government doesn't mean that God has or hasn't approved of your marriage.
We give the government TOO much power over our lives?
