Life is hard, but marriage shouldn't be hard. Marriage should make life easier. Marriage is hard when you stop putting your spouse before yourself. Being in love isn't the same as loving someone. Being in love is just an emotion and emotions come and go. Loving someone is an action that must be repeated everyday and is a decision that is made.
My wife and I are best friends. We enjoy many of the same things like football, movies, TV shows, travel, restaurants, politics, and faith to name just a few. Marry someone that is your best friend. Common interests and passions are so important. TV and movies like to make it seem like couples never have anything in common. But the best couples have a lot in common. I enjoy my time with my wife. She is my lover, my teammate, my cheerleader, and my best friend.
