Trump reversed an executive order by Obama that forced every school to allow transgender students to use whatever bathroom they wanted. I know liberals are going to try to say this is an example of Trump hating the LGBTQ community, but that is a false argument. It has to do with the fact that Trump and Conservatives believe that bathrooms in schools are a local issue and not a federal issue. The federal government has no right to tell schools, cities, or states how they run their bathrooms. The 10th amendment says that what power has not been granted to the federal government in the consistution is to be given to the states. This is about states making their own decisions and not the federal government telling states what to do. If Trump or the Republicans passed an order or bill that outlawed any school, state, or business from allowing open bathrooms to transgender people that would be something I'd be against. States, cities, local school boards, and businesses should make their own choices on this. And if we had school choice then if parents didn't like a school that allowed transgender bathrooms they could send their child to a different school. This isn't an attack on transgender people, but an argument against federal government overreach.
And I will not listen to any argument about how transgender bathrooms are like black segregated bathroom. Transgender people make up less than 1% of the population. Blacks make up 13% of the population. Blacks were treated as property and slaves. You are born black, so you have no choice in the matter. Fact is a person is either born with XX chromosomes or an XY chromosomes. You are born male or female. Again I'm not saying a school, state, or business can't allow transgender people to use whatever bathroom they want. I'm saying this isn't a federal issue. The federal government shouldn't be making the decision one way or another.
