I used to work part-time at Wal-Mart and let me say that it might be one of the best places I've ever worked. I worked at two different Wal-Marts and in both stores management was kind, caring, and involved. My wife and I have worked in retail for many years and the health and dental coverage at Wal-Mart is as competitive and even better than most of the employers we have worked. While Wal-Mart's benefits are not as good as GM or Chrystler, they are not bad for retail and they didn't need a bailout.
Wal-Mart saves the average customer over $2000 a year, which is more than many people get in their tax refund from the federal government. Wal-Mart keeps prices low, they give millions of dollars to charity, and if you are willing to work hard you can advance in the company to become even the CEO. The current CEO started at Wal-Mart as a par-time cart pusher.
If Wal-Mart ran the government things would actually get done and our taxes would be the lowest in the world. Because just like how Wal-Mart prides itself on having the lowest prices in the world, if Wal-Mart ran our country they would want to have the lowest taxes in the world and control spending. And now that they are raising wages to a minimum of $10.00 an hour it will have an effect of raising the country's minimum wage to $10.00 an hour. Most other businesses will have to follow Wal-Mart's lead to stay competitive.
