In Revelation 5:5, Jesus is called the Lion of Judah. “Then one of the elders said to me, ‘Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed…” If we read on in verse 6, we see Christ as a lamb. “Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders” (Revelation 5:6). Jesus is pictured as both a Lion (symbolizing his authority and power) and a Lamb (symbolizing his submission to God’s will).
Christ the Lamb was the perfect sacrifice for all of our sins. Christ the Lamb won the greatest battle over evil by dying on the cross. The role of Christ the Lion will be to finally defeat evil and Satan. Christ the Lion is victorious, because of what Christ the Lamb has already done.
About Me
- Chuck Baker
- Chuck Baker is Right! Well, I am. What I mean is that my friends always joke that I’m always right (or at least I think I am). The thing is I don’t say anything, unless I know I’m right. So it's not that I’m right about everything, but usually when I speak I know what I’m talking about. My dad always said, “Don’t speak unless you know your right.” This blog includes many subjects like religion, politics, business, movies, sports, and more.
