Great Date Movie for Christians!
This movie was made by the same church that did "Facing the Giants." Now if you enjoyed that movie, you will also enjoy "Fireproof." Since most of the actors are not professional, but members of the church that made the movie, it does take about 10-15 minutes to get used to the acting. Kirk Cameron (Growing Pains) is the star and does a very good job. Even thought the acting is not the best you'll ever see, the story is very good.
The story revolves around a fireman and his wife and how their marriage is falling apart. The husband (Kirk Cameron) in any attempt to save his marriage takes on the "Love Dare." The story does touch on some tough issues, like Internet porn. As the movie progresses we see the husband changing and we see how is wife reacts to those changes. The movie also has a little bit of action and comedy to mix up the pace.
I think Christian couples will really enjoy this movie. If you are not a Christian, but want to see the drama of a couple fighting to save their marriage you can enjoy it too. While it is a "Christian" movie, it is not too preachy. It gets its point across without beating you over the head. Give it a try with an open mind and you might find something special.
About Me
- Chuck Baker
- Chuck Baker is Right! Well, I am. What I mean is that my friends always joke that I’m always right (or at least I think I am). The thing is I don’t say anything, unless I know I’m right. So it's not that I’m right about everything, but usually when I speak I know what I’m talking about. My dad always said, “Don’t speak unless you know your right.” This blog includes many subjects like religion, politics, business, movies, sports, and more.
