Creed II is almost as good as the first Creed, but a somewhat clunky first act holds it back. While the movie is connected very heavily to Rocky IV, the story is more of a mirror of Rocky III. While it mirrors Rocky III, it is much more serious without the 80's glam. It really is about Creed dealing with fear and knowing why he fights. It also really focuses on the importance of family. The movie is at its very best when Stallone is on screen and Tessa Thompson is also great. Overall it is an emotional journey, with strong acting, and powerful action.
