About Me

Chuck Baker is Right! Well, I am. What I mean is that my friends always joke that I’m always right (or at least I think I am). The thing is I don’t say anything, unless I know I’m right. So it's not that I’m right about everything, but usually when I speak I know what I’m talking about. My dad always said, “Don’t speak unless you know your right.” This blog includes many subjects like religion, politics, business, movies, sports, and more. Retail Coaching 8: Lead By Example

In business any good coach will lead by example.  You can't manage or coach from the office.  You must be on the floor with your team. You must be willing to show your team how it is done.  You must be the person that your team can look to as an example of how it is done.  Your team needs to see you living the things you are telling them to do.

If you are a selling manager you don't have to be the top selling person in the store, but you have to make your goals.  The same goals that you expect your team to make.  You also have to display the same behaviors you expect them to display in your sales presentations.

If you want to get your team to buy into your coaching it all starts with you leading by example.
