“Life is a journey and not a destination.” I’m sure you’re heard this saying in the past. It is one of my personal favorites, but recently I started to look at it a little differently. As Christians we should see life as a journey to a destination.
Paul said, “Remember that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize. You also must run is such a way that you will win. All athletes practice strict self-control. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize,” 1 Corinthians 9:24-25.
Our journey in life does have a destination and that destination is heaven. In our life we have peaks and valleys, good times and bad, successes and failures, but our eyes should be focused on the prize. The prize is everlasting life in Heaven.
Jesus’ journey in life also had a destination, that destination was on an old rugged cross at Calvary. This communion remembers Christ’s journey and destination. And it proclaims our final destination with Him in Heaven.
About Me
- Chuck Baker
- Chuck Baker is Right! Well, I am. What I mean is that my friends always joke that I’m always right (or at least I think I am). The thing is I don’t say anything, unless I know I’m right. So it's not that I’m right about everything, but usually when I speak I know what I’m talking about. My dad always said, “Don’t speak unless you know your right.” This blog includes many subjects like religion, politics, business, movies, sports, and more.
