Once Rush Limbaugh gave the closing speech to CPAC (Conservative Political Action Committee). His speech was seen on CSPAN, Fox News, and CNN. For me conservatism is about truly caring for other people through freedom. It is not about a government program and it is not about being a victim. Conservatism is about the old saying, “Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach him to fish and he will never go hungry again.” Everybody that is physically and mentally capable can be as successful as they choose to be. Conservatism wants to unleash the potential that everyone has, but it is up to each person to succeed or fail. Success comes from hard work and not the government. In the old saying of teaching someone to fish, the person who learns how to fish, still has to go out and fish.
