About Me

Chuck Baker is Right! Well, I am. What I mean is that my friends always joke that I’m always right (or at least I think I am). The thing is I don’t say anything, unless I know I’m right. So it's not that I’m right about everything, but usually when I speak I know what I’m talking about. My dad always said, “Don’t speak unless you know your right.” This blog includes many subjects like religion, politics, business, movies, sports, and more. Retail Coaching 2: Product and Service Knowledge Training

Every retail store sells some type of product or service.  It could be a product like jewelry, clothes, computers, or product repairs.  Whatever your store does you must train your associates about what it is you do and the products or services you offer.  Here are 4 ways to coach your associates on product and service.

1.  Learn:  When teaching about a product or service start by having the associates read, watch, and listen to different media outlets about your products or services.  Let them do some learning on their own and let them discover things about your company, its products, and the services it offers.

2.  Tell:  As their coach tell them about the products and services you offer.  Explain the features and benefits of the products and services.

3.  Play:  Come up with fun games and activities that help the associates learn about your products and services.  Make learning fun and not just another thing that has to be done.

4.  Teach:  Let your associates teach you and other associates about your products and services.  Let them explain the features and benefits.  Let them design games and other interesting ways to learn.
