Peridot is the birthstone for August and the 16th wedding anniversary. Peridot ranges from green tones to pale yellowish to grass green. The Romans called peridot the evening emerald. Mystics say tha the stone will drive away evil spirits and if set in a gold goblet it will increase the power of any medicine drank from the goblet.
