About Me

Chuck Baker is Right! Well, I am. What I mean is that my friends always joke that I’m always right (or at least I think I am). The thing is I don’t say anything, unless I know I’m right. So it's not that I’m right about everything, but usually when I speak I know what I’m talking about. My dad always said, “Don’t speak unless you know your right.” This blog includes many subjects like religion, politics, business, movies, sports, and more. Don't Forget To Tip

Something that makes me mad is when someone doesn’t tip. While there are many people in the service industry that accept tips, I think no one deserves them more than waiters and waitress. Unlike most in the service industry, the majority of income a waiter or waitress makes is from tips. When my wife was a waitress she only made $2.13 an hour. As you can imagine if you don’t make good tips you won’t be able to pay the bills.

Now if you received very poor service should you still tip? I say yes, but instead of the normal 15% to 20%, maybe you only tip 5% to 10%. Why? Because these people work very hard and maybe someone was really mean to them earlier or maybe they were just having a bad day. We’ve all had a bad day at work. Would you want someone to not pay you for one bad day?

When my wife used to be a waitress one of the worst days for tips was Sunday afternoon. On Sunday afternoon the “Christians” would come out for lunch after church. Many times those “Christians” would not leave a tip. Many times instead of a tip they would leave a “track,” that had a Bible verse and talked about finding Jesus. Don’t get me wrong I have nothing against “tracks,” but that “track” won’t feed a family. As Christians we are called to love one another and treat others as we would like to be treated. When we as Christians refuse to tip it is neither loving nor Christ-like. So when you got out to lunch this Sunday after church, don’t forget to tip your waiters and waitresses.
