Oh Lord, the wicked are arrogant and hurt me. They brag about their evil desires; they praise the greedy and curse you, Lord. The wicked are too proud to seek you. They seem to think that you are dead. They speak with cursing, lies, and threats. They look for trouble and evil. The wicked think, “God isn’t watching us! He has closed his eyes and won’t even see what we do!” But I know O Lord, you will punish the wicked. You do not ignore the helpless! You see our troubles and grief. We put our trust in you. You defend us. You Lord are king forever and ever! Lord, you know our hopes. You hear our cries and comfort us. You will bring us justice and we will no longer be terrified. Amen.
