Cake was a movie billed on Chronic Pain websites as a movie about a woman dealing with chronic pain. My wife suffers from chronic pain due to many illnesses. My wife was very disappointed by the movie. Unlike my wife our hero doctor shops for more pain meds, goes to Mexico for more meds, drinks, has a personal assistant, and doesn't have to work because she is rich enough to just stay home. The movie was really about a woman considering suicide after a car accident where she suffered injuries and the loss of her son. As a movie it really seemed like it tried to touch on all of the movie cliches and stereotypes. It didn't seem to know what people dealing with chronic pain really live with. This was just another movie that tried to use a lot of tricks to get an emotional reaction. This could have been about a drug abuser or an alcoholic. But it wasn't a movie about someone dealing with chronic pain and their families.
About Me
- Chuck Baker
- Chuck Baker is Right! Well, I am. What I mean is that my friends always joke that I’m always right (or at least I think I am). The thing is I don’t say anything, unless I know I’m right. So it's not that I’m right about everything, but usually when I speak I know what I’m talking about. My dad always said, “Don’t speak unless you know your right.” This blog includes many subjects like religion, politics, business, movies, sports, and more.
