The birthstone for February and the 6th wedding anniversary is Amethyst. Amethyst comes from the quartz family and comes in a wide range of colors such as purple, pink, and green. Purple is by far the most popular. It is believed that if a person wears an amethyst it will hlep prevent intoxication.
