Starbucks has said it is going to hire 10,000 refugees about 2000 in the U.S. Here is my problem with Starbucks saying they are going to hire 10,000 refugees. It's discrimination based on national origin. If you are going to hire someone because they are a refugee, then that means someone who isn't will get passed over. You should hire someone because they are the best person for the job. If you have two applicants one is a refugee and one is an American and you hire the refugee just because they are a refugee you have just discriminated against the American for his national origin.
"Under the laws enforced by EEOC, it is illegal to discriminate against someone (applicant or employee) because of that person's race, color, religion, sex (including gender identity, sexual orientation, and pregnancy), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information."
Hire people based on their qualifications, not on their religion, sex, age, national orientation, or any other non-qualification reason. Hire people for who that are not what they are.
